How Social Media Destroyed Segun Arinze’s Marriage

How Social Media Destroyed Segun Arinze’s Marriage

Veteran Nollywood actor, Segun Arinze has said that social media is helping to destroy so many celebrity marriages.

The 52-year-old actor who suffered a broken marriage in 2003 from his ex-wife and actress Anne Njemanze ‘Domitila’ said celebrities aren’t “helping themselves” by putting their private lives on social media.
“I have had my share of it,” he said, speaking to LIB “remember I had a broken marriage.”
He said:
Social Media is helping to destroy so many marriages and a lot of our so-called celebrities are not helping themselves by putting their marriages and relationships on social media.
Your private life should be private. I have had my share of it, remember I had a broken marriage before I remarried again.
Learn to keep your private life private and your public life public. You don’t let the whole world come into your life and see what you are doing because the same people who are seeing you today and going to mock you tomorrow.
As a public figure, it’s really tough being a public figure. Celebrities need to separate their private lives from the public, show what’s necessary if it’s important.
It’s really crazy how everybody post about their private life on the Internet, looking for likes and all that. Social media has its advantages in terms of reaching out to fans, marketing and promoting of your brands. But the disadvantages will come back to hurt you.

Tagbo’s Death: Davido Yet To Reach Out To The Family Of The Bereaved

Tagbo’s Death: Davido Yet To Reach Out To The Family Of The Bereaved

One of the tragic news that hit the net this week, was the death of Tagbo Umeike a friend of Nigerian popstar, Davido

Tagbo was alleged to have died after drinking several shots of tequila during a night out with friends in Lagos.
However, Tagbo’s friend and actress, Caroline Danjuma, accused Davido and his team of dumping Tagbo’s body at a general hospital in Lagos Island and fled. In the wake of several conflicting reports on the incident, Sunday Scoop spoke exclusively with Tagbo’s immediate elder sister, Equi Arakada, who is based in the United Kingdom.
She was badly shaken and it was clear to see that the sad incident was causing her great grief.
“I am a year older than he was, and October 3 was supposed to be his 35th birthday. They’re trying to portray him as a drunk or useless person, and that’s not true. There’s more to social media than what we see on the screen. He was not married and he didn’t have any kids. He was an engineer but he was trying to diversify into the music business. Not as a musician, but maybe as a record label owner,”
“He could upload some pictures of himself hanging out with his friends, but that does not mean that he doesn’t have anything else he does with his life. He was a very caring and outgoing person, and he had a great future ahead of him. I would definitely not wish what we, his loved ones, are going through right now on anybody.
Nobody deserves to die the way he did; abandoned at a time he needed help the most. Nobody deserves the nonchalance that the parties involved are displaying. It’s really unfair. Our dad is late, and my mum is taking this one day at a time.
Davido has not reached out to anyone in my family; not me, my mum, or Tagbo’s brother. I only knew about my brother’s friendship with Davido through social media; I had never met him. But they’ve been friends for some time now because I often see pictures of them together. I’m not really familiar with many of the artistes in Nigeria, but I know that on the night of the incident, Tagbo was with Davido and Dammy Krane.
Right now, we’re trying to gather as much information as possible to aid the investigation. All we need is justice; we don’t need any financial gain from this sad incident. We would dig to the root of the matter and find out if it was the negligence of anybody that led to this, or there was any sort of tampering involved. The autopsy would be conducted on Monday; any contrary news is false.”
However, Davido and his team have refused to make any comment on the matter. When Sunday Scoop put a call through to Davido’s manager, Asa Asika, he said, “We don’t have any comment on this matter; there is nothing to say.”
Meanwhile, the police have also confirmed that the autopsy would be carried out on Monday.

This Is What Jidenna Had To Say After Nigeria Qualified For 2018 World Cup

This Is What Jidenna Had To Say After Nigeria Qualified For 2018 World Cup

An excited Nigerian-American singer, Jidenna took to Twitter last night after his home country qualified for the World cup to ask popular game makers to put back Nigeria in FIFA video games.
Sometime this year, a Reddit user wanted to name his own team on FIFA 17 ‘Nigeria’, only to find out that’s not allowed. According to this user, if you try to use ‘Nigeria’ or even similar terms such as ‘e-Nigerian’, the game will prevent you from proceeding, telling you that squad name “contains a censored word”.
Last night in Uyo, Nigeria became the first African country to qualify for the Russia 2018 World cup after Alex Iwobi scored the only goal in a match against Zambia.

This Is When Oritsefemi Plans To Have His Elaborate White Wedding

This Is When Oritsefemi Plans To Have His Elaborate White Wedding

Singer Oritsefemi who tied the knot with his sweetheart Nabila Fash has said that he’s planning an elaborate white wedding in Nigeria scheduled to hold on November 25, 2017.

Oritsefemi, who kept his court wedding a secret until the information leaked online, made this known in an interview with PUNCH’s Saturday Beats.
“I kept my court wedding under wraps because I was in a lot of controversies during that period and I was also trying to work on my management. I was working on my brand image as well. My wife is a very private person and if we had made it public, it would have worked against us because sometimes when you share information like this, anything can happen.
I tried as much as possible to keep it to myself especially because my wife loves her privacy. It was my idea to make it private and when I spoke to my wife about it, she agreed. At the end of the day, the information still leaked.
I am still going to have an elaborate white wedding in Nigeria on November 25. I could have decided to do the wedding outside Nigeria but I am a man of the people. When I got to the event centre, I told them that I would be expecting at least 2,000 people but they told me that they believe that at least 3,000 people would be at the wedding, so they volunteered to cater for the other 1,000 people that may come for the wedding free of charge.
My wedding is going to be amazing and it would be strictly by invitation. I already have a song about wedding and people would want me to perform on my wedding day but I would do something different,” he said.

The singer also advised that married couples should not deprive each other of sex.
“Marriage is something that you have to be very diplomatic about. You have to be very careful and know what you are doing because it has its ups and downs. No marriage is perfect. Some people think that marriage is all about money but it is not. It takes God and the couple to understand each other. Some people talk about cheating in marriage and that is why I sang in my song, ‘Igbeyawo,’ that women should not starve their husband of sex. If you do that, it would bring problems in your home. I don’t want lack of sex to be a problem in my marriage. Any time my wife wants to have sex, I would always give it to her, at any time.
Sex should not be the problem. Money could cause problems but don’t let sex be the problem. Get close to your wife and try to understand when she needs it. As a wife, you also need to know when your husband needs to have sex. It pains me when I hear that lack of sex is the cause of some people’s marital crisis. I would rather hear a woman say that she wants her husband to work harder,” he said.

Why These Actresses Believe Sleeping Your Way To The Top Is Not A Bad Thing

Why These Actresses Believe Sleeping Your Way To The Top Is Not A Bad Thing

Sisters and actresses Tracy and Treasure Daniels in a new interview the sisters said they see absolutely nothing with their colleagues having to sleep their ways to the top.

What are you up to lately?
Generally, we don’t like to put our plans out there because bread is not sold while still in the oven but on display. We work quietly and bring you the outcome. Our skin care products could be mentioned here because it’s ready and available for launch on our birthday on October 21. In fact, that’s the thing we’ve been up to lately.
However, our latest movie and the roles we played in it are also worthy of mention. It was directed by Sir Uchenna Agbo and shot in Enugu State alongside other great talents. The characters we played are Jenifer and Jessica. The movie is very interesting and at the same time challenging. The characters demand acting out a disturbed drug addict, which is far from the kind of roles we’ve played in previous movies.
What do you like about the characters you acted?
Anybody who had watched Unknown Caller would attest to this. However, nothing remains our best for too long, another best is already on the way.
How was your growing up?
I could say we were born with silver spoon, but I would rather say with golden spoon. Our parents are members of the clergy; we grew up in a parsonage which I consider a privilege because that’s what has shaped us into who we are today.
What childhood experiences made you cry?
Whenever anybody attempted to separate us or if my twin sister was traveling without me, we would cry or take ill until we were reunited or allowed to go on the trip go together. Also, anytime our dad was traveling back to his pastoral work, we would cry and fall sick as well. That’s how much we cherish our father.
Would you like to change anything in the way you were brought up?
Growing up, our parents were like missionaries. They were always going on transfer or traveling from one state to another and that affected our stability as children. We couldn’t concentrate in one school. We were always the new kids and we also missed our friends. If we had our way, we wouldn’t have accepted that kind of growing up.
What is your most embarrassing moment in Nollywood?
It was when one of us wanted to play smart and switched roles in the movie entitled A friend of Mine. Tracy was supposed to be on set, but she also had a date with her boyfriend on that day. So, we agreed that rather than cancel the date,Treasure would stand in and help shoot her scenes. Little did we know that the director would find us out. Kabat was a very smart person, and good director. We give it up to him.
What is your happiest moment in the industry?
It was the day we premiered our latest movie, Unknown Caller. It was a classy and beautiful event. It practically launched our career to a new level.
Are you in any relationship currently?
Yes, one of us is in a relationship. But we don’t want to discuss our relationships in the media.
Who is your ideal man?
Each of us has different standards for the man we would like to be with. However, we have one common ground; our ideal man must be emotionally stable and financially established. We don’t believe in gender equality. Our ideal man has to be first and foremost, a provider, that’s our culture.
Have you had a disagreement over a man?
We are so discreet about romance. For us, it’s okay that way because it’s very sensitive.
Do you have a crush on anyone in the industry?
I don’t know what would happen if I run into Kit Harington (Jon Snow) of Game of Thrones or if my twin sister runs into Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lanister) also in Game of Thrones.
Can both of you marry one man?
Why marry one man when many guys would be left heart-broken after our marriage? We can at least make it one guy less broken (laughter). Never, we can’t marry one man. Each of us would have her own husband. It doesn’t matter if they are strangers, brothers, friends or twin brothers.
Do you get sexual advances from married men who see you on screen?
It would be an obvious lie for any girl in our position to say no to this question. But remember these are not just admirers, but fans and fans are the ones who determine our ability to sell and how we are rated in our career. So, we have to make them remain loyal even if they don’t get through their wishes.
Do you believe that some actresses sleep their ways to the top?
Everything is possible and nothing is new or news. There are fair and fowl means of achieving every set goals and each one comes with a price. Life is about choices and people are free to choose the one they can deal with. No one is better than another, so we don’t pay that any attention. We just follow the path we choose for ourselves; steady and focused till we get there.
What makes you stand out?
More than any thing, I think what makes us stand out or distinguish us from other actresses is the fact that we are identical twins, and pursuing the same career.

Here’s What Iyabo Ojo Did Before Starting Her Amala Business

Here’s What Iyabo Ojo Did Before Starting Her Amala Business

Nollywood actress and movie producer, Iyabo Ojo, recently  launched her food venture which she called Abula Spot.

The petite actress however revealed in a recent interview with Saturday Beat that she had to sell some of her landed property and also her jewelry in order to achieve her dream.
According to her,
“I did not collect a loan to open my business, I saved. I had been planning to open this place for a very long time, so I had been saving. When I wanted to get my new office building, I sold some of my property. I sold almost all my gold if not everything. During that time, I sold one batch and when I needed more money, I sold the rest. I told myself to forget about gold for now because I know that I can make the money back later. With the support of good people as well, I was able to get my office building. The first lady of Kwara State who came to inaugurate the building supported me. Some of my godparents also supported me because I told them that I wanted to sell amala,”
The actress also added that selling amala can never make her quit acting.
“I can never quit my career for anything. I am a very organised person. When you are organised, you plan ahead. My life is planned and that has helped me a lot. I knew I was going to do this food business but I waited till the right time. For about a month or two, I am not going to be filming so that I can look after my business. I have a structured plan for my business. It is insured, I have an auditor who comes to look at the records. Everything is well planned.”
Speaking about the fact that people now refer to her as ‘Iya alamala’, she said that she is not ashamed to sell food some people perceive to be local.
I am a local chic. I made a name for myself by acting in my local dialect which is the Yoruba language and in our culture, amala is the in-thing. I am proud to be selling amala because that is my culture. A Chinese man cannot be ashamed of owning a Chinese restaurant. What I did was that I brought something perceived to be local to the Island and I made it look posh. When something is local, it does not mean that it is dirty. People really long to eat amala and I am not ashamed to be selling it. I opened the Abula Spot because I noticed that on the Island, they do not really have anywhere you could go to get the local dish unlike the way we do on the mainland. When I moved to the Island, I decided that I was going to open my restaurant here. I had been planning to open this business for a long while but I did not have the time to monitor it at the time. When I saw that I had the time to go into the business, I went for it. I had two shops on the mainland so I decided to close one down.”
