Nollywood star and TV host, Femi Branch, has been conferred with a chieftaincy title in Osun State. The actor on Sunday became the Jagun Asa of Edeland.

The actor, who shared photos from the ceremony on his Instagram page, was coronated by the Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi III.

He wrote,

“I wish to thank my Nollywood family for turning up as well to honour my Traditional Father Timi Agbale Olofa ina. It was indeed a pleasure to see you all. Not only did I have the singular honour of being given a traditional title and drafted into the highly exalted office of the elders fold of Yorubaland by non less than the first class yoruba Monarch, the Timi Of EDELAND, but the Alaafin of Oyo, Father to the Yoruba nation was to personally confer my title on me…. wow….this could only have been God!”

BBNaija 2018: Nigerians blast Alex after Leo, Ifu are evicted

Big Brother Naija 2018 housemate, Alex, is attracting the anger of Nigerians, particularly social media users, following the eviction of Leo and Ifu from the house on Sunday.

The duo nicknamed ‘Lifu’ were evicted this Sunday, ending their quest for the N45million star prize pegged on the reality TV show tagged Double Wahala.

Fans of the show took to Twitter to lambast Alex over her reaction at the exit of Leo.

Chimamanda Adichie‘s Americanah has been selected by the New York Times’s staff book critics as one of “15 remarkable books by women that are shaping the way we read and write fiction in the 21st century.”

This list of fiction books, each of which features a woman at its center, was compiled to mark Women’s History Month.

According to the New York Times,

The books steering literature in new directions — to new forms, new concerns — almost invariably have a woman at the helm, an Elena Ferrante, a Rachel Cusk, a Zadie Smith.

For Women’s History Month, The Times’s staff book critics — Dwight Garner, Jennifer Szalai and myself, Parul Sehgal — sat down together to think about these writers who are opening new realms to us, whose books suggest and embody unexplored possibilities in form, feeling and knowledge.

As we put together a reading list, we introduced a few parameters, for sanity’s sake. We confined ourselves to books written by women and published in the 21st century. And we limited our focus to fiction, but not without some grief.”

About a month actress Dorcas Shola Fapson recounted her ordeal about her attempted rape by a Taxify driver and this blew over the internet, especially when the ‘alleged’ driver came out with his own version of what truly transpired and a law suit against the actress.

People were left wondering who to believe, some even going as far as calling Shola Fapson an attention seeker. The actress didn’t respond to the backbites and the shades she was getting but stayed low key.

Now the actress is saying something about the incident.

The actress posted on her Instagram how women should not be labelled wrongly when they are speaking out about any form of sexual molestation or harassment.

Eucharia Anunobi Celebrates Son’s Posthumous Birthday And Reveals How He Died

Actress Eucharia Anunobi who is still mourning the death of her son is now revealing that he died by accident at a doctors hand.

The actress, who lost her son last year August after his battle with Sickle cell, spoke with Punch’s Saturday Beat on how she celebrated  his posthumous 16th birthday.

She said, “I have not removed my mourning clothes, neither have I opened my hair since the death of my son. I have only been wearing white since his demise and the reason I have maintained this is because my son was a good boy to me; but he was mistakenly killed by the doctor. My son was not supposed to die. He was a very wonderful child. I decided to honour him by marking his 16th birthday posthumously the way we normally do.

During our birthdays, we usually visited the motherless babies and show them love by donating some clothes and food to them. This year would not be any different from the previous ones we have celebrated. I am going to do it the way my son and I had always done it and I would give out some of his personal effects. Normally, when someone dies, you do not touch their things for about a year.

For instance, if a man’s wife dies he is not expected to touch her things or dispose of them till after a year. Initially, I decided to do the same thing but I later changed my mind and that is why I donated some of his things to a government-owned motherless babies’ home and also to the boys at the Special Correctional Centre for the Boys. I am doing this because I am a humanitarian and to let the motherless babies know that we love them.”
