How Don Jazzy Replied Filmmaker Who Called Him ‘Broke’

How Don Jazzy Replied Filmmaker Who Called Him ‘Broke’

Writer and filmmaker Onyeka Nwelue took to his IG to write that all Nigerian celebrities are poor. According to his post, Don Jazzy is a tenant, D’Banj is hustling every day to feed.

He wrote:
Dear Young Nigerians,
Garb yourself with some self-esteem, self-confidence and self-pride. We are all poor. Us and the celebrities. All the celebrities in Nigeria.
Linda Ikeji is not a celebrity. She is a business woman. So she is not one of those broke celebrities.
Every celebrity in Nigeria is broke. They are like me. They don’t have the money they tell you they have. Many of them I have seen their bank statements. I don’t care if they start avoiding me now. I know better. Stop feeling inadequate, young people. You see as I beg for money publicly, that is how these celebrities suffer and beg for money secretly.

When I was writing Hip-Hop is Only for Children, I spent time travelling with many of them and I know the truth. Let them shut up. Now HushPuppi and his bitches have dragged Ugo Mozie into their rubbish.
Don Jazzy is a tenant. He is broke. Forget everything. D’Banj is hustling every day to feed. Davido spends the money they pay for every show.
Sinach and Frank Edwards are richer than these guys. This, I know! I am tired of all the social media haranguing and brouhaha and lies and show! And you will say, How e take concern you?
I am angrily writing this because those of you who feel because you are not famous and so you think you are poor, remember it is the little cash that you people send to our accounts that make us dey do iyanga.
Forget all the foreign trips. Do you know how many people who buy me flight tickets?
When you talk about wealth, people who are wealthy don’t throw them around on social media.
Be yourself because I have seen their bank details. And I know we are all struggling.
Fuck inferiority. You folks who think fame is fortune need to relax. You are better than us!
Don Jazzy finally reacted to the post saying:
“True talk……May God provide for us sha,” Don Jazzy concluded.

Here’s Why Nkechi Emmanuel Will Not End Up With A Nigerian Man

Here’s Why Nkechi Emmanuel Will Not End Up With A Nigerian Man

Actress Nkechi Emmanuel popular for her role as Nurse Titi in Clinic Matters, has stated that she can’t end up with a Nigerian man because they do not have what she wants in a man.

Read excerpts from her interview with The Sun.
Can you briefly tell us about yourself?
My name is Naomi Nkechi Emmanuel, but people call me Nurse Titi, because of my role in Clinic Matters. I am from Anambra State. I am a graduate of History & International Relations from Lagos State University. I am planning to go for my Masters degree either in Film Production or Law.
When did you develop the flair for acting?
It’s been a long time. I would say the talent has been growing, but it took me a while to discover it. I discovered the talent when I was in church and my mum actually supported me. I was 16 then and I went for several auditions. I later went to the National Arts Theatre to make enquiries and I was told to pay certain amount to register. I paid and the whole thing started from there.
What was your first movie as an actress?
It’s ‘When You Are Mine’ and it was a blockbuster. In the movie, I played alongside numerous artistes and that was when I acted as a nurse for the first time. When the movie came out, people said I did well and that was where Mr. Paul Igwe, the producer of Clinic Matters saw me and gave me a chance.
Are you saying you started acting professionally with Clinic Matters?
Before Clinic Matters, I had done some drama series on NTA, but this brought me into limelight.
Is playing the role of a nurse the best you can do?
In fact, I am sick and tired of playing the role of a nurse. I have acted in several movies as a nurse and I keep telling the producers that I am not born a nurse, and that I can do other roles.
Have your fans ever mistaken you for a real nurse?
No, but people always advise me to take nursing as a profession. They would say ‘why don’t you take it as a profession?’ But I can’t because I don’t have the flair for it.
Have you ever been embarrassed by a fan?
I get embarrassed almost everyday. Recently, I was somewhere and people were like ‘she is an actress’ and someone said ‘which actress?’ and that they don’t know me, so I felt bad.
Aside acting, what else do you do?
I do photography modeling. I am a model; I do a lot of adverts.
Why are you still single?
I am not single anymore. My bride price has already been paid, and soon my church wedding would take place.
Can you describe your man?
He is everything I wanted in a man. He is everything I have always asked God for. He is a man I love so much.
Is he a Nigerian?
No, he is not a Nigerian. He is British.
Why a Briton and not a Nigerian?
Nigerian men came for me but they didn’t possess the qualities that I want in a man.
Was it love at first sight?
No, we met on location. The whole thing started like a small feeling, and it later blossomed.

If your husband asks you to drop acting, what would you do?
He can’t ask me to drop acting, because he is my number one fan. He is also in the industry; he’s a movie director.
What advice do you have for the up and coming actors that see you as their role model?
You have to be strong; you have to work hard because it’s not easy. You have to be focused and determined. Also, don’t lose your shape because I believe your body is your first market. Aside this, you have to be very prayerful.

Anthony Joshua Beats Carlos Takam To Retain World Heavyweight Titles

Anthony Joshua Beats Carlos Takam To Retain World Heavyweight Titles

Anthony Joshua has extended his knockout streak to 20 after stopping Carlos Takam in the tenth round in Cardiff at the Principality Stadium.

He has now surpassed Mike Tyson‘s best ever streak which was 19 and is just one behin Frank Bruno‘s 21.
The win also means Joshua will retain his IBF and WBA heavyweight titles.
The stoppage has however been described as ill-timed by many observers as Takam was seen as being fit to continue the fight.
However, pundits say Joshua would have still emerged winner of the game.
Speaking during the in-ring interview, Joshua said:
I have no interest in what’s going on with the officials. I just worry about my opponent. Unfortunately, the ref stopped it. I think people wanted to see Takam unconscious on the floor, am I right?
He was getting there. I didn’t have control over the ref’s decision. We get the win and now we look forward to 2018.

Olayode Juliana Has A Word For Ladies On How To Respond To Men

Olayode Juliana Has A Word For Ladies On How To Respond To Men

Former Jenifa’s diary star Olayode Juliana aka Toyosi has dished out some solid advise to ladies, using her experience today as a yardstick.

Toyo baby as she is fondly called who recently added a feather to her cap by authoring a book shared her experience at a club tonight while on an errand to a Suya spot.
She wrote:
So, the gist…
A few minutes after I checked into the hotel I was lodging at, I took a stroll to get some #suya
There was a nearby suya spot, it was in the compound of a club. The suya sellers recognised me and soon the Club Manager appeared.
He introduced himself and we exchanged a handshake. As I had been schooled @mineministry in my teen years, I gave him a FIRM handshake. He was surprised and asked why I shook him like a ‘man’.
I was surprised at his response. I can imagine what he is used to. Ladies, please step up your confidence. Look guys in the eyes when they talk to you and if they offer a handshake, please make it firm.
He said something else and I “gave it back to him”, I would tell you that one tomorrow 😊😉😁
By the way, I hope you would be at #ribsout tomorrow. I hope to see you and give you a FIRM handshake…lol

”My Two Year Old Daughter Is Eager To Become A Singer” – DJ Neptune Reveals

”My Two Year Old Daughter Is Eager To Become A Singer” – DJ Neptune Reveals

DJ Neptune  just disclosed in an interview with Saturday punch that his two-year-old daughter is already a star in the making.

In a chat with Saturday Beats, the disc jockey said that his daughter is showing signs that she would become an entertainer.
“My two-year-old daughter loves music a lot and whenever I am in my studio at home recording or listening to music, she walks in and grabs the microphone. She knows the right buttons to turn on the equipment and she keeps saying play the music. Whatever she wants to become in life is fine,” he said.
Speaking further, DJ Neptune gave reasons for not making public appearances with his wife.“Sometimes, if my wife feels like coming out, we go to events together but you would hardly see pictures of us together because we are both very private people. She is not the typical ‘Lagos girl’ that wants to be on every red carpet. It is part of what attracted me to her in the first instance. Aside the love we share, she is a very passionate person who loves my job. She always wants to make me happy. There is bound to be misunderstanding but we took a covenant to be man and wife, so regardless of what happens, we just have to weather the storm together. You have to keep pride away and keep the ship sailing. But when it comes to rendering apologies, it normally depends on who looked for trouble first. Most times, I tend to be the one to apologise to her by teasing her or cracking jokes to make her laugh.”

This Is Why Jim Iyke Doesn’t Want To Be Labelled A Nollywood Actor

This Is Why Jim Iyke Doesn’t Want To Be Labelled A Nollywood Actor

Nollywood actor and business man, Jim Iyke in a recent interview with Pulse Nigeria said he doesn’t want to be referred to as a Nollywood actor.

According to him,
“I don’t want anyone to label me a Nollywood actor. I want to be a business man, I want to be a philanthropist, I want to help people in my lifetime, leave my signature in the stamps of time. I want people to wake up and say ‘hey, if you didn’t do this, this wouldn’t haven’t happened. And I want to say the same of people.”
During the interview, the actor also spoke about his shocking sexual harassment experience, the role he regrets playing, and his upcoming reality TV show.
He, also revealed the real-life character he would love to interpret on screen.
“It’s a man with the depth of Denzel Washington. Denzel is not just an actor, that’s how I don’t want to be perceived as well. That’s why I’m always going off and on to go educate myself some more, elevate my mind some more, invest in things that are outside the confines, fail in many more things and succeed as well as I go.”

Emmanuel Ikubese Reveals Why Models Become Actors

Emmanuel Ikubese Reveals Why Models Become Actors

Current Mr. Nigeria and Mr. World Africa, Emmanuel Ikubese,  recently explained why Nigerian models become actors in an interview with punch newspaper.

Ikubese who is also a United Nations Millennium Development Goals ambassador said,
“Models can be likened to footballers and at some point, they become too old to compete with younger boys. I started modelling when I was about 17 years old because I have the stature and I could do catwalks very well. I am not saying that there are no older models but if you look at it closely, especially in the international scene, you would not see a 32- year- old man modelling. If you have a talent, you can use modelling as a platform to launch your talent in either acting, music or any other sector. If you can put it into use, you can do a lot more because as a model, things you can do are limited. Acting in a film is different from walking on the runway. As an actor, I can touch lives and that makes me happy as a person. It is one of the things I love to do. As a model, you are not doing that and it is not fulfilling because you would just look good to sell someone’s product. Before I ventured into acting, I used to sing and I was also a disc jockey. The way I got into acting was even divine because I went for auditions and before long, I was called to play several roles. If I were to choose which I love to do the most, I would definitely go for acting.”

This Is The Reason Iyanya Is Still Single

This Is The Reason Iyanya Is Still Single

Nigerian singer Iyanya in a recent interview with Saturday punch revealed his reason for still been single at the age of 31.

The singer spoke on his love life and revealed that he is single at the moment with no hopes of getting hooked to a lady any time soon.
“How do I miss the attention of women when I am running away from them? Check me out, even without music, you think I would not get girls?  Girls are not an issue, they flock around me and it is even happening as I speak with you. I am not in love with anybody at the moment because I am focused on a lot of things. When the time comes, nobody would know.”
Speaking about the rumoured relationship he had with Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, Iyanya said he would certainly keep his relationship off prying eyes.
“When I fall in love again, I am definitely not going to inform the press and the reason is simple, anytime I step out to tell the world that this is my girlfriend, I end up losing the girl. Over the years, I have learnt to keep it to myself. I would show the world my videos and shows but not my girlfriend. I would not show the world when we are kissing. I have learnt from my past mistakes,” he said.
The singer also spoke about the fact that many of his fans think the his fame is dwindling. But Iyanya told Saturday Beats that he is not bothered by what others think of him.
“I feel nothing when people say I am not the Iyanya they used to know because everything is in their head. What you think about me is not what is happening in my world and you think such because of what you see or hear. I am fine, I am blessed and I am still touring the world. I am happy. So, if you are over there thinking that Iyanya is not who he used to be, then that is your thought and has nothing to do with me.”
He continued, “Everything about me is still happening on a high level; don’t judge me based on what I post on social media. I am blessed and it is for life. You cannot judge me based on what you see me post. I show you only what I want you to see, it does not mean that my life depends on the pictures or videos that I post. This is a social media world where people judge you based on what they see on your social media pages. That is not my life; it is only what I show people. I have a life that is different from what I post, so no one can generalize my being just by looking at pictures. People would have different opinions about my music but as an entertainer, I have to be versatile. I won a competition in 2008 and within the ten weeks that the competition lasted, I was expected to do different genres of music. I don’t just have fans that want to listen to dance songs, there are those who want to hear me sing, so there is nothing wrong with stepping the tempo up or down because I am not catering to a particular kind of fans. I have people who love the Kukere guy while the others are in love with the guy that won MTN Project Fame nine years ago. I always try to balance it but it is okay for people to have their opinion but I am doing very well.”
